Friday nights are horrible when you're alone.  You've just gotten
home from work, you're tired, you know you have to be at work again on
the morrow, but there's no one to comfort you, no one with whom to
share your day.  No sound, not even the wind, it's dark, and you
live at the outer edge of one of the liveliest cities in North
America.


Your partner is in a foreign country, caring for a very sick sister,
and you don't know when she is coming home.  Although you call
regularly, conversation is a  poor substitute for the loneliness
you feel.  Some of your friends at work have it even more
difficult, so you can't complain, only feel a sense of complete
helplessness


I came back from lunch yesterday to find a friend wandering seemingly
aimlessly in the parking lot, looking for his car.  'Are you all
right, Barry?'....'I'm in shock', he said in reply.  'I just got
word that my son died, he's gone, and I don't know what I'm going to
do'.



My problems disappeared immediately....God forbid that my son (or daughter) dies before me.



I don't feel as bad now.



Tomorrow is another day....my wife, my sons, my daughter will be here
no matter how far away they may be.  God bless you, Barry, and
your son.  My heart goes out to you and your family.
